Prices and reimbursements

Healthcare

Oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures are covered under the basic health insurance and are therefore classified as insured healthcare. This means that, in principle, you only need to pay your deductible. The deductible is the mandatory amount set annually, which you must pay yourself, regardless of the healthcare provider you visit (contracted or non-contracted). If you chose a higher voluntary deductible when selecting your health insurance, the costs for the deductible will also be higher.

OraMax Clinics currently does not have contracts with health insurers, meaning OraMax Clinics is a non-contracted healthcare provider. As a result, your healthcare insurance may not fully reimburse the costs of your treatment. To ensure that you do not pay more than you would at a contracted provider (e.g., a hospital), OraMax Clinics works with a goodwill arrangement in which your personal contribution will be waived. You can find instructions on how to arrange this in the Step-by-Step Guide for Invoice Processing.

OraMax Clinics works with factoring company Infomedics, which sends you the invoice and manages the financial handling of your invoice. For questions about your invoice, you can contact Infomedics.

Non-insured Healthcare
OraMax Clinics also provides non-insured care, which refers to treatments not covered by your health insurance under basic care. Examples include implant treatments. For these treatments, you will need supplementary insurance or you will need to cover the costs yourself. For treatments classified as non-insured care, you can request a cost estimate after your care needs have been assessed. Treatments will only be scheduled once you have agreed to the cost estimate.

All dental care rates are set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa).

Cancel or change appointments

Would you like to cancel or reschedule your appointment?

Appointments must be canceled no later than 24 hours before the scheduled time. If you fail to cancel your appointment on time, OraMax Clinics will charge you for the reserved time. These costs are not covered by your health insurer.

The reason for this policy is the high cost of healthcare: a treatment room remains unused, and a care team is on standby but unable to provide care during that lost time. Someone else could have received care during that time. This policy aligns with the guidelines of the KNMT (Royal Dutch Dental Association). Appointments must be canceled by phone or email at least 24 hours in advance. Please take our opening hours and phone availability into account.

What are the costs if you fail to cancel on time?

  • For a missed consultation or follow-up appointment, OraMax Clinics will charge €55.00.

  • For a missed surgical procedure, the charge is €250.00.

Outstanding invoices

If you have an outstanding invoice with OraMax Clinics, we are required to schedule a new appointment only after the outstanding invoice(s) have been paid.

Oral and maxillofacial surgeon

An oral and maxillofacial surgeon is a medical and dental specialist who treats conditions in and around the mouth, face, and neck. Wisdom teeth extractions, infections, and jaw joint disorders are examples of areas that an oral and maxillofacial surgeon addresses. In addition to a dental degree, the oral and maxillofacial surgeon also holds a medical degree. The field of oral and maxillofacial surgery lies at the intersection of dentistry and medicine.

Complaints procedure

All OraMax Clinics staff strive to provide optimal care and assistance. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, we encourage you to let us know. This allows us to work together with you to improve our services. Every complaint is analyzed to prevent recurrence.

Do you have a complaint?

If you are not fully satisfied with the care you received, please report this to your healthcare provider. Many complaints arise from miscommunication or differing expectations. Your healthcare provider will appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. Experience shows that a significant number of complaints can be resolved in this way.

Complaint officer

If you are unable to resolve the issue with your healthcare provider, you have the option to contact the complaint officer. This is an independent professional mediator who will work with you and your healthcare provider to find a resolution for your complaint. This link will take you to the KNMT complaints procedure.

Dispute committee

If you cannot find a solution together with your healthcare provider and complaints officer, you can have your complaints assessed by the Geschillencommissie Mondzorg. This makes a binding decision on the complaint.
OraMax Clinics is affiliated with the Disputes Committee SGIM (Foundation Dispute Authority for Oral Care).

Request medical file

For quality care, OraMax Clinics maintains a medical record for each patient.
Your record is largely stored in a central Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system, which all care providers use. Your medical information is always handled confidentially, in accordance with applicable regulations.

The law defines your rights and obligations regarding your medical record and outlines how OraMax Clinics staff must manage your personal data. These guidelines are described in the Medical Treatment Contracts Act (WGBO) and the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG).

As a patient, you have the right to access and/or receive a copy of your medical record. If you would like a written copy of your medical record for review, you or your legal representatives can submit a Medical Record Copy Request to OraMax Clinics. You can send your request via info@oramax.nl
